Theory Test

You can start learning to drive once you’ve received your provisional licence, and reached the age of 17, but before you can take your practical test, you must pass the theory test. This is taken on a computer and consists of two main sections:

  • 50 multiple choice questions. (Pass rate 43 correct)
  • A test of your hazard perception skills. (Pass mark 44 out 75)
    • You will need to pass both parts of the theory test at the same sitting to obtain your theory test pass certificate.

121Drive offers classroom based training on the theory test at various loactions including South East Essex College in Luker Road, Southend. Access to a computer and theory books are all provided.
